The world of Aethelgard shattered. For centuries, four civilisations survived in total isolation — on mountain peaks, in bioluminescent depths, beneath ancient forest canopies, across bone-bleached desert wastes. Each tribe forgot the others existed.
The fog is receding. The continents are grinding back together.
They remember now.
Aetherfall is a pass-and-play strategy game where four asymmetric factions clash over a shared hex board. Capture an enemy's capital and they are eliminated — permanently. Their cities go neutral, their armies dissolve. Last capital standing wins.
Four tribes. Four completely different games.
🛡️ Aerie Ascendant — Mountain warriors who grow stronger the longer they hold position. Move them and you lose everything you built. "They did not flee. They anchored."
🌊 Abyssal Tide — Amphibious flankers who strike from water tiles no one else can enter, and slow everything they touch. "The sea does not ask. It takes."
🌿 Briar Weavers — Forest ambushers who claim and corrupt the terrain itself. The longer the game goes, the less of the board you can safely see. "You cannot fight what you cannot find."
💀 Dune-Wraiths — Glass-cannon skeletons who leave ghost decoys behind every movement. Your threat map is always one turn stale. "By the time you see them, they are already elsewhere."
Every faction brings a Beast — a single, board-altering unit that can turn the game. A Mountain Drake that Divebombs from ridge to ridge. A Leviathan that drags enemies into the deep. An Emerald Serpent that Petrifies targets — too valuable to kill, too dangerous to ignore. A Death-Stalker that Webs and Poisons from range, while its kin leave false trails across the sand.
Terrain is not decoration. Mountains, forests, water, and desert each fight for whoever belongs there — and against everyone who doesn't.
